Here's what NOT to do on the raw food diet ...
Here I talk about some of the common pitfalls newcomers to the raw food lifestyle encounter. I have been eating raw food for just over 16 years. On this journey, I have made many errors and learned from them. Focusing too much on fruit, not eating enough fat, not eating enough period, eating too much, not exercising, being too stringent, are just some of them. I have learned through my own personal experience that a balanced and simple approach is the best ...
Eat food in it's most natural state.
Eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full.
Do not eat when you should be resting.
Don't take it too seriously.
Now, this is easier said then done. It took years before I learned to listen to my body's own cues in terms of what it needed and when. Many of us were raised how not to listen to our body's own cues. Our parents told us to eat when we didn't want to and to eat what we didn't want to. And this, sometimes messes with nature's design. Now I know when I need fat, sugar or greens and I know the best way to get them into my body.
But it doesn't have to be this 'scientific'. Eating should be enjoyable too. After all, food is good. My aim is to show people that eating raw plant food can be delicious, fun and enjoyable and all the while, healing to the body.
Hopefully, through this blog, I can share my experiences and knowledge on the raw food lifestyle with as many people as possible so that many can experience the wonders of the raw food way.
Peace.
