Inspired by the Halloween season, I put together some raw vegan treats that even your pickiest eater will love. From 'Vampire Bites' to 'Carmel Apples', 'Chocolate Bats' and 'Lil' Orange Pumpkins', try 'em, you'll love 'em. Below I demonstrate just how easy it is to make my 'Carmel Apples'. In only minutes, and very little clean up, you'll have a high-energy and nutritious snack that's a winner!
These 'Vampire Bites' will scare even your bravest of Halloween fiends! I made these the other day and my 4-years old would not eat them. He said, "Mommy, they are just too scary!" But, my 8-year old and 6-year old gobbled them up in seconds! Using fresh, local apples in season, this treat is both festive and seasonal!
My 'Sticky Chocolate Bats' and 'Lil' Orange Pumpkins' are delicious as they are easy. See my recipes here ...
So luscious and yummy .... vegan pudding never tasted so good!
My husband adores pudding, period! I have been trying to come up with a "healthy" pudding recipe for years. Recently I came up with this lovely coconut pudding. And it is truly amazing - healthy and delicious all rolled into one. I've made it in peach, pineapple and mango flavour.
Below I demonstrate just how easy it is to make this raw dessert/snack food!
Here's my recipe ...
These Almond Date Balls are so yummy you won't believe they're vegan, let alone raw! They are super easy and quick to make and only require 2 ingredients - dates and almonds. That's it. Nothing else. They take minutes to make and they vanish in seconds ...
My kids adore these little gems. They're perfect finger food for tiny little fingers ... but they're delicious for just about anyone.
This very simple recipe takes only 2 steps ...
This is truly an ingenious snack for kids (and adults too). The salty celery, combined with the creamy nut butter and the sweetness of the dates, makes for the perfect snack.
It's a hit with all four of my kids every time. It's a must try ...
Here's my recipe. (For a video demonstration of this recipe, go to my Raw Kids page.)
My kids and I paid a visit to the library today. They spent the entire afternoon making battle ships out of paper. They were so INSPIRED by this craft that they have been playing 'pirates and ships' for hours!
I thought ... why not use this experience as INSPIRATION for a neat and FUN - and highly energizing and nutritious - afternoon snack. After only minutes of preparation, here you have it, battle ships made out of BANANAS & NUTS!!
... and needless to say, it was a HIT with all my little ones!
Dig into this DIVINE milky vanilla sweetness as a snack or anytime ... just sit while you enjoy this heavenly yumminess!
My husband created this milkshake one day after we had eaten at a local raw food eatery. He had a vanilla milk shake at the restaurant and was inspired to create his own. This is the result of his raw food experience .... true genius!
Only problem is ... we can't stop drinking it! ... good job hubby!

I make these Coconut Snow Balls for my family all the time. My kids love them as after school snacks and generally any time. Also, when I'm in a pinch and need a yummy dessert in minutes, I turn to this delightful dessert. These go wonderfully well next to a warm tea, or a cup of coffee (if your guests are drinking coffee).
Honestly, this will be the quickest and easiest raw food snack or raw dessert you'll ever make and the payoff is pure deliciousness!
All you need is 2 ingredients and a few minutes ... here we go ...
Slushi not quite the way you remembered it ... but oh so yummy ... and CcccOLD!
We were out walking on an extremely hot day - my 4 kids and I. We bore the heat only for so long before we all began to melt ... literally. Sweating at the temples, my kids begged me for cups of ice! I thought to myself -- "How can I make this a little more interesting"? ... I had a bowl of cherries in the refrigerator and a few very ripe red plums.
So, I juiced the cherries and the plums, added 1 apple and 1 pear and the result was syrupy sweet goodness (only it was bright pink and totally yummy). I poured the cherry plum syrup over some crushed ice and voila ... instant fruit slushies were born. And they were refreshing and delicious. Exactly what you need on a hot, hot summer day!

These raw vegan date squares are easy to make and delicious! If you're looking for a hearty and sweet afternoon snack or an energizing breakfast treat .... these are perfect!
Try them ... you'll love them ...
This dip/spread is absolutely sublime! As sour as it needs to be, creamy and delicious - a must try! Not only is it tasty, but good for you. Cashews are high in "heart-friendly" monounsaturated fatty acids that help to lower bad LDL cholesterol and increase good HDL cholesterol! They are also very rich in minerals, including: manganese, potassium, copper, iron, magnesium, zinc and selenium. In fact, a handful of these nuts daily would prevent deficiencies in these minerals.
This is one of those recipes that you needn't introduce as "raw" because no one will know the difference. Serve veggies and this dip at your next dinner party for an appetizer. It is a guaranteed hit! Or, spread some on whole grain ezekiel bread, add some lettuce, tomato, avocado, a pinch of salt and a pile of sprouts. This makes a great transitional recipe for those just starting out raw.
Here's how you make this healthy sour and creamy dip ...
