Well, just one big handful of cashews provides one to two thousand milligrams of tryptophan which works as good as prescription antidepressants!
So here's to feeling great, and being drug free!
My Incredible 5 Minute Cashew Milk
1 cup truly raw organic cashews (please, for tasty and truly yummy cashew milk, source out truly raw and organic cashews)
spring / filtered water
a good pinch of Celtic sea salt
4 to 5 large Medjool dates, pitted
a pinch of raw vanilla (optional)
1. Place the nuts in your Vitamix blender.
2. Now add the dates, sea salt and vanilla. For sweeter tasting milk, use 5 dates.
3. Fill the blender to the 7 cup line with your choice of clean water.
4. NOW BLEND AWAY. Blend for at least 2 minutes. Done.:)
This milk will last for up to 3 days when kept refrigerated. ... ours never lasts more than a day :);o
Use this milk over raw vegan granola, in any smoothie recipe or in my chia seed pudding recipe.
Note: I have another posting for my "1 Minute Cashew Milk" recipe. It is almost the same except that I use honey instead of dates as the sweetener in the milk and add cinnamon as a flavour enhancer. Both this recipe and that one are great for quick and creamy nut milk. If you are 100% vegan and want to avoid honey, this recipe will work best for you.
