While I love the Norwalk hydraulic press, the plain fact is, it is super expensive and very hard to clean. The juice it produces is lovely and of super quality, but most people will not want to pay thousands of dollars for a juicer, let alone spend hours cleaning the mess this machine tends to make. Thus, my number two juicer, is the Omega masticating juicer (any 8000 series machine or newer). Now this machine is golden! The juice it makes comes incredibly close to the quality of juice produced by the Norwalk. It is a slow masticating juicer and therefore one need not worry about the enzymes, vitamins or minerals being damaged by any heat in the production of the juice. The clean up is 10 minutes or less and the machine itself is dishwasher safe. This machine will run you anywhere between $250 to $500 depending on your currency and the model you choose. I personally love the 8003 model and one can typically find these for quite cheaper than the latest models. I paid only $229 for mine. So do your research and get interested in the juicer you're using. I discourage anyone from spending even a penny on a centrifugal machine. They are useless in my opinion and make a poor quality of juice. Stick with the masticating type for a truly cold-pressed juice of higher quality. You'll save money over time and enjoy the juice along the way. Happy juicing! |
